Service Co-ordinator (maternity leave)
After graduating from Lincoln University in 2011, Emily moved to the Borders and worked for the Scottish Borders Council. There her job involved working with lonely and isolated older people in their communities. She worked with these people to ensure they had all the services they needed in their local community to remain happy, safe and socialising.
Emily was awarded the ‘Generations Working Together’ award for her work with student volunteers who supported local community projects. Emily has a keen interest in voluntary and recently helped to establish a Community Cafe run by volunteers.
‘I’m really looking forward to supporting our Vibes Volunteers as they build friendships with lonely people over 60. It’s such a valuable lifeline for those feeling isolated.’
