Introducing Stephanie Wilks – Amazing Events Organiser
For almost a year Stephanie has been at the core of the Vintage Vibes team, managing all sorts of wonderful events and getting to grips with fundraising campaigns! Each week she brings rays of positivy to our little office and her hard work is all the more impressive as she comes all the way from Glasgow to volunteer. Steph, you are a fabulous human and we are lucky to have you! Thank you.
Here’s Steph’s story…
“Having graduated from Edinburgh Napier University in Festival and Event Management, and homed my skills during my time at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society, I came to Vintage Vibes to put my skills in events to good use. I volunteer one day a week in the Vintage Vibes office, organising events for the charity, while listening to playlists on spotify and eating sweets.
Whilst working with them, I have planned/promoted/ran the Vintage Vibes Christmas event and Vintage Vibes First Anniversary event for influencers, as well as supporting numerous other events in the year. This has included securing venues, collating guest lists, composing blog posts, using my graphics skills to design posters and invites and more. Our anniversary event was particularly successful and gained me a special mention amongst other volunteers and a bunch of flowers for all my hard work.
I thought the Vintage Vibes might be for me as they work to tackle isolation in the over 60’s. Having been unwell in the past, the thought of being lonely in that situation is frightening to me but that is the reality for some would be VIP’s. And so, if throwing parties can help to combat that, I am very happy to do so. I feel like volunteering, and caring those in a less fortunate situation is an important factor in life, not to mention all the positive karma that comes from helping others.”
