Vocal Vibes Singing Group Leader Val shares a song
During coronavirus all our activities have moved to being on the phone or online. Including our Vocal Vibes singing group!
Our Vocal Vibes Singing Group leader, Val, has made a little message for our VIP group members to get involved while isolated. For anyone at home who wants to have a sing song – enjoy!

We are also currently testing out setting up virtual fortnightly Vocal Vibes sessions for VIPs to engage with from their homes. SO many VIPs have requested a way to keep their singing going during this challenging time!

“Well hello everyone. I hope you’re all fine. I’m speaking to you from my bubble, from my own personal island.
“I hope you appreciate the fact that I’ve put my makeup on for you! I’ve been giving my face a rest, but actually I think my face needs more than a rest! I’m also wondering what colour my hair is going to be at the end of all this. It’s going to be very interesting.
“Anyway. I thought I would send you the two parts of ‘Siyahamba’ (‘We are Marching in the Light of God’). And try and learn both bits and then you can drown me out on both occasions!
“So, here we go:
“Siyahamba, ekukanyen’ kwenkos’,
Siyahamba, ekukanyen’ kwenkos’,
Siyahamba, ekukanyen’ kwenkos’,
Siyahamba, ekukanyen’ kwenkos’,
Siyahamba, ooooh,
Siyahamba ekukanyen’ kwenkos’.
Siyahamba, ooooh,
Siyahamba ekukanyen’ kwenkos’.
“And now the harmony:
“Siyahamba, ekukanyen’ kwenkos’,
Siyahamba, ekukanyen’ kwenkos’,
Siyahamba, ekukanyen’ kwenkos’,
Siyahamba, ekukanyen’ kwenkos’,
Siyahamba, ooooh,
Siyahamba ekukanyen’ kwenkos’.
Siyahamba, ooooh,
Siyahamba ekukanyen’ kwenkos’.
“It’s also good to march while you’re doing that. And incidentally I hope you’re plugging in to Gareth Malone at 5:30pm every night. You will notice that he’s stolen quite a lot of my exercises…I think he should be paying me, don’t you?!
“There’s so much on the internet that you could just about be exhausted by it. But I hope you’re managing to stay well, stay up, and looking after yourselves.
“So I’ll say “bye bye” until the next time. Bye!”
