Volunteer Get Togethers at last!

We are absolutely delighted that our volunteers are able to meet up in groups again, and during Volunteers’ Week we held not one but TWO volunteer meetups! Hurrah!

Our volunteers dedicate an hour of every week to bringing joy and friendship to local isolated older people, and we think they deserve celebrating! Who wouldn’t want to spend the evening with such wonderful folks!

We were lucky enough to be invited to both the Befriending Networks Volunteers’ Week celebration and the Johnnie Walker Experience for a tour – so we split into two teams and had a marvellous time.

At Befriending Networks our volunteers played games, received certificates in recognition for their contribution to the city, ate scrumptious food and got to know one another better. At Johnnie Walker they were treated to a special tour, tastings and a visit to the roof top bar with amazing views of the city. Absolutely fantastic!

During the evening we asked our volunteers what volunteering with Vintage Vibes meant to them, and the answers were incredible – from learning new skills to being part of their local community to increasing their confidence to wanting a long lasting friendship. We want to thank Befriending Networks and Johnnie Walker Experience with all our hearts for helping making our Vintage Vibes volunteers feel so very special. We hope this is the start of many more volunteer meetups and that soon we will be back to the schedule of bringing our volunteer family together every month or so to enjoy each other’s company and support eachother in the volunteer journey.
