Donate & Share a Smile!

For the next week, Vintage Vibes is inviting you to donate and ‘Share a Smile’ and help us to tackle the loneliness crisis in Edinburgh! 

Many older people feel detached from their community in Edinburgh and have lost some of the joy and connection of being part of such a wonderful city. Our ‘Share a Smile’ Campaign is designed to put the smile back on the faces of Edinburgh’s isolated older population and make our VIPs feel part of the city once more!  

To show your support and help us to reach even more of the 11,000 over 60s in the city that are lonely or isolated and click here to make a wee donation to support our work and together we can bring that sense of belonging back! 

Do you want to share a Smile? During the campaign, we will be flooding social media with photos from local people about what makes them smile in Edinburgh – it could be a photo of your pet, a silly selfie with loved ones, a drawing by your kids or grandkids, a pic of a local landmark that makes you smile – anything! We will then use these images on our website and socials and as part of events and activities with our VIPs to help remind them of the fantastic community that they are part of! 

How can you help? All we ask is that you post your joyful picture on social media tagging in @vintagevibesed with the hashtag #MakeEdinburghSmile, donate £1 (or more), nominate others to Share a Smile, like our page and help us tackle isolation in Edinburgh!

Let’s make Edinburgh Smile! The connection created by sharing something as simple as a smile can give people a much-needed lift, making them feel acknowledged and involved. We want to share that feeling and connection and let us work together to bring a smile back to the faces of older lonely or isolated people in Edinburgh.
