Two years, 500 spreadsheets and so many memories… Saying Goodbye to Steph

For the past two years Stephanie Wilks has been a superstar for Vintage Vibes. Working full time and spending her day off travelling from Glasgow every single week to volunteer in our office; creating amazing events and being one of our family.

We are delighted (and saddened!) that Steph is now moving on to start a new life working in the charity sector (hurrah!). We couldn’t be more thankful for everything she has done for us, or more proud of the inspiring individual she has become…

“I’m Steph – my favorite colour is purple, I have an affinity for sweets and I have been an office volunteer with Vintage Vibes since November 2016. A bright eyed events graduate, I had no idea how wonderful the journey I was about to embark upon would be.

Over the past 2 years I have *loved* being an office fairy, organising fundraising events behind the scenes. Most notably I led a team of fabulous volunteers with the preparations for the Swishing Clothes Swap at Summerhall in September.

I’ve also managed to wiggle my way into helping on multiple marketing campaigns. Learning to use programmes like Canva and SharePoint and advancing my social media and engagement knowledge has allowed me to progress as a young professional and the confidence I’ve gained through being involved in the partnership has allowed me to become more established, fully formed, socially conscious individual.

At Vintage Vibes I have grown my skills under the watch of the always inspiring Georgia and I am thankful for everything she has taught me. Although there have been times that I have doubted my own savvy, I have been trusted with campaigns and achieved things I never thought I would and managed to smash my own expectations of myself.

After lots of hard work (and spreadsheets) I am now able to go on to an exciting role within the charity sector and if I’m able to support the development of volunteers and help them flourish in the same way I’ve been able to at Vintage Vibes I can be very satisfied in my career.

I truly love this project and all the people who work tirelessly to tackle loneliness in Edinburgh, both staff and volunteers alike. You are all massively awesome superheros and I’m really going to miss being as involved as I have been.

I can’t wait to see Vintage Vibes grow and take over the world but until then I’m sure it will continue to be super-duper terrific amazing, filled with cake and definitely yellow!”
